Surface dressing is a method of prolonging the life of a road and costs much less than road re-surfacing. It is used to create a hard wearing, skid resistant road surface and seals the road surface preventing water penetration.

The process of surface dressing is quick and is achieved by spreading high quality aggregate chippings onto an adhesive surface on the road which is then compacted. Once completed, all loose chippings are swept off the surface and again several days after trafficking.

An advantage of surface dressing is that not only is it cost effective, but it can be repeated for example every 5 – 6 years.
