Patching and Cyclic Maintenance

Patching and cyclic maintenance is the treatment of small defects in a road surface, e.g. potholes, rutting, fretting & cracking. This operation can be used to prolong the life of a road instead of resorting to expensive resurfacing work. This type of work is very important as it ensures the road surface forms a seal against water that may damage the road foundation.
Typically, work like this would be carried out by marking around the problem area, removing the surface layer and patching with up to 50mm thick of asphalt.
